This is an introductory course that touches several technical aspects of mobile computing and networking that are nowadays part of our daily life. We will answer questions such as: What is the cost of mobility? How are network protocols affected by mobility? What is the cost in terms of battery power? What are the principles of positioning, in the network, and in the world? How to find services in a foreign network? The course comprises of several parts of theory, technology, and practice, that will enhance understanding of many technologies used by a typical Android handset.
