The practical course aims to develop the four fundamental skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. The main objective is focused on: a) The development of the communicative competence of the students, with an emphasis on the shaping up of the four skills. b)Developing and shaping up the cultural competence as part of of the communicative competence in English c) The capacity of understanding fatcs of life and civilisation, with a view to developing an intercultural awareness of the students. d) The capacity of using , in real contexts, situations of communication adequate phrases and collocations illustrating cultural and civilisation conditions. e) The possibility of decoding the iconic and cultural character of gestures and other symbolic elements during conversations.

• Functions of academic written communication in English.
• Writing short messages: letters, memos , emails.
• Formal letters.
