Dr. Alexandru SORICI (Male) is an assistant professor and scientific researcher at the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers of the University Politehnica of Bucharest (UPB). He holds B. Sc., M. Sc. and PhD degrees in Computer Science from UPB, as well as a PhD degree in Informatics from the École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint- Étienne, following a joint-degree thesis, defended in September 2015. The research activity of dr. Sorici spans the domains of Ambient Intelligence (AmI), Context-Awareness and Context Management, knowledge- and data-driven (machine learning based) Human Activity Recognition (HAR), Multi-Agent Oriented Programming and Social Robotics. The work has resulted in the publication of several papers in international journals and conference proceedings, as well as a book chapter. Since 2015, he has been involved in several national and international projects (e.g. CAMI, CONSERT, SPARC, NETIO, ROBIN).
