Database Systems Usage

Course Instructor: Florin Rădulescu

The course objective is to provide the students with essential knowledge needed for a good understanding of the database design and usage cases and techniques and for operating with the tools in this domain. During course hours (and also labs hours) the students will be provided with notions, algorithms and methodologies used for: Computer aided design of the database schema; Administrating relational database systems; Database systems tuning; Understanding data warehousing and the use of a data warehouse; Algorithms for data mining/knowledge data discovery; Understanding spatial database systems and the use of a spatial database.
